In Marking period 1, we learned about forces and motion. Newton's laws of motion 1st law of motion- An object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon an unbalanced force. 2nd law of motion- An objects acceleration depends on the mass. 3rd law of motion- action reaction forces are always equal but go in opposite directions. |
Motion- The act or process of being moved.
Forces- Forces are basically a push or a pull. Acceleration- The rate of change of velocity of an object. Velocity- The speed of something given in a certain direction. Formulas To find speed, you have to use speed=distance/time To find acceleration, you have to use A=final velocity(-) initial velocity/Time To find the force of an object, you should use Force=Mass(Times)Acceleration Average V.S Instantaneous speed Average speed-The total distance traveled divided by the total time elapsed. Instantaneous speed- How fast an object is going at a given time. |
